What should the bonding record show before a pool shell is placed?

Eight conductive items, each with its plan reference, connection method and location, a visible inspection result and an evidence ID: shell reinforcing, deck bonding, the conductive water bond, light niches, rails and anchors, equipment, conduit and junction points, and any other required conductive part. Plus the adopted code edition and the licensed trade.
Scope. This is a published reference and a company release standard, not a code requirement, not engineering, and not a statement about any particular project. It does not certify compliance or fitness for a specific pool. Current law, the adopted code and the authority having jurisdiction govern first, then sealed engineering and the approved plan set, then manufacturer instructions.
Bonding is the pool system where the consequence of a missing connection is electrocution, and it is also the system most completely hidden by the next day’s work. Once the shell is placed and the deck is poured, a missed bond is not visible and not cheap.

For each one the record carries four things: the plan or authority reference it comes from, the connection method and its location, the visible inspection result, and an evidence ID that points at the photograph or measurement.
THE HEADER FIELDS, which are the ones that make the record defensible. The adopted electrical code and edition, because the requirement is edition-dependent and Southern Arizona is not on one edition. The AHJ or inspector record. The licensed electrical trade and their license or credential reference. Result, pass or fail. Date and time. Any open item or correction reference.
WHAT THIS FORM IS NOT. It records evidence. It does not authorise unlicensed electrical work and it does not substitute for the required electrical inspection. The bonding itself is reserved to the licensed electrical trade.
THE FAILURE THIS CATCHES. A bond connection that is missing or inaccessible traces back to a trade gap, coated steel, a blocked location, or a sequence error. The safe response is to keep the work visible and get licensed electrical correction and inspection. The unsafe response, and the common one, is to assume another trade can reach it after the shell is placed. They cannot.
Bonding and grounding are not the same thing and the words are used interchangeably in the field constantly. Bonding ties conductive parts together so they sit at the same potential. Grounding provides a fault path back to the source. A pool needs both and they are inspected differently.
